Description
About Flexion:
At Flexion, we're building the intelligence layer powering the next generation of humanoid robots. Our mission is to accelerate the transition from fragile prototypes to real-world humanoid deployment. We are founded by leading scientists in robot reinforcement learning (ex-Nvidia, ex-ETH Zürich), and backed by leading international VC firms. In just months, we’ve gone from our first line of code to deploying real humanoid capabilities.
The Role:
As our Finance & Operations Associate, you'll work directly with leadership to build the financial and operational foundation that enables Flexion to scale over the next two years. You'll be a key business partner across the organization, translating growth plans into financial models, designing scalable processes, and ensuring we have the operational rigor to support our expansion into the US market and beyond. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you'll touch everything from fundraising to vendor management to headcount planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial planning & analysis: Build and maintain multi-year financial models, monthly budget vs. actual reporting, burn rate tracking, and cash flow forecasts that inform strategic decision-making
Cost control & budget management: Monitor spending across departments, identify cost optimization opportunities, track budget variances, and partner with teams to keep expenditures aligned with plan
Fundraising support: Prepare investor materials including financial models, data rooms, and board presentations; support the CFO/leadership through Series B fundraising process
Operational process design: Establish and scale core financial operations including AP/AR, monthly close, expense management, vendor negotiations, and compliance workflows for CH and US entities
Inventory & order tracking: Manage procurement workflows for robots, hardware, and equipment; track orders, deliveries, and inventory levels; coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely availability of critical resources
Legal operations: Manage day-to-day legal workflows including NDA review and execution, contract tracking, vendor agreement coordination, and liaison with external legal counsel for routine matters
Business partnership: Work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Leadership to provide insights, identify opportunities, and support our expansion
Requirements
1-3 years of experience in finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or startup operations with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end projects, OR a relevant Master's degree (Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, Management) with relevant internship/project experience
Advanced Excel proficiency: Can build driver-based financial models from scratch with proper architecture (clear inputs/calculations separation, formula-driven logic, scenario capability)
Operational mindset: You build, implement, and improve processes. You've designed workflows, set up systems, or scaled operations in previous roles
Autonomy & judgment: You thrive in ambiguity, make sound decisions with incomplete information, and know when to decide independently vs. escalate. You identify problems before they're assigned to you
Diligence: You maintain accurate records, and ensure consistency in financial reporting, contract documentation, and inventory tracking
Startup DNA: You're energized (not exhausted) by wearing multiple hats, moving fast, and doing unglamorous work. You prioritize impact over perfection and are excited by the prospect of building infrastructure from scratch
Communication skills: You can explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders, present confidently to executives, and build relationships across functions. Fluent English is a must; German is a plus
Nice to have:
Experience supporting fundraising processes (data rooms, investor models, due diligence)
Familiarity with multi-entity operations (CH/US) and cross-border finance
Exposure to contract management, legal operations, or procurement
Experience with inventory management, supply chain, or hardware operations
Startup finance stack experience
Experience with data analysis tools
Background or strong interest in robotics, hardware, or deep tech
Prior startup or high-growth company experience
Benefits
Competitive compensation package
A front-row seat at one of Europe’s most ambitious robotics companies
An energetic, collaborative team with a bias for action
